the Heavy Wonderful!

Heavy Wonderful is a queer and retro pop rock group that formed in upstate New York in 2023, making upbeat music for the 1960s by way of the 1990s. It began years earlier as the passion project of musician and producer Zoë Collins, with illustrator Michele Rosenthal eventually joining on vocals, and Johanna Schaufeld on keys. Their first single, “Forever Girl,” is a cheerfully gay wall-of-sound love song, a taste of what’s to come for their debut album.
